🎯 Build Your Best Round, One Hole at a Time

The Eclectic Cup is one of LVMC’s most fun and unpredictable satellite events. Instead of relying on one perfect round, players get multiple chances to improve their score hole by hole over the tournament season.

The objective is simple: post your best net score on each hole across your eligible Eclectic Cup rounds. A par today, a net birdie next month, and maybe a career-best score on a tough hole later in the season can all combine into one great final Eclectic Cup score.

Winning scores can get very low, and every round gives players another chance to improve.

⛳ What Makes the Eclectic Cup Special

The Eclectic Cup is different from a traditional tournament because your best hole-by-hole results are combined over time.

A bad hole does not ruin your tournament. You may have another chance to improve it in a future round. A strong back nine, a great stretch of holes, or one unexpected net eagle can make a big difference in the standings.

It is a wide-open format where patience, consistency, and a few great moments can all come together.

📋 Tournament Overview

Tournament Window: April through September
Maximum Rounds: 5 rounds maximum
Round Limit: One submitted Eclectic Cup round per calendar month
Format: Best net score on each hole across all eligible rounds
Eligibility: Open to current LVMC members with a valid SCGA Handicap Index
Tees: White or Blue movable tee markers, not the permanent tee plates
Handicap Basis: 90% of the Los Verdes Tournament Index for the current tournament season
2027 Handicap Update: Beginning with the 2027 Eclectic Cup, the handicap allowance will change to 70% of the Los Verdes Tournament Index
Flights: A maximum of four flights, determined after registration closes
Championship: Each flight winner qualifies for the Eclectic Cup Championship in October

🔄 How the Tournament Works

Players may submit up to five eligible Eclectic Cup rounds during the tournament window, with no more than one round submitted per calendar month.

For each submitted round, the player records gross scores hole by hole. Golf Genius applies the appropriate handicap information, and the player’s Eclectic Cup score is built from the best net score achieved on each hole across all submitted rounds.

At the end of the tournament window, the lowest Eclectic Cup scores in each flight determine the flight winners.

🏆 Eclectic Cup Championship

Each flight winner advances to the Eclectic Cup Championship in October.

If a flight winner is unable to participate, the next eligible finisher may be invited.

The Eclectic Cup Championship is an 18-hole net match play event. Detailed championship information will be provided to the qualifying players.

Players are expected to read the Eclectic Cup Official Rules & Procedures before registering and before playing their first Eclectic Cup round.

Failure to follow the Eclectic Cup Rules & Procedures may result in round disqualification or tournament disqualification.
