June Weekday Tournament Snapshot
Partner Pars or Better Brings Out Big Scores

The June Weekday Tournament featured the Partner Pars or Better format, where teams earned one point for every hole on which a player recorded a net par or better. On paper, the format can be demanding, but the Weekday players made it look easy this month.

The winning scores were outstanding, with teams posting 29 and 28 points out of a possible 36. With so many strong performances across the field, there were plenty of highlights to celebrate.

A special shoutout goes to John Fabis and Robert Martin, who each recorded a perfect 9-for-9 on the front nine. Chuck Olinger also delivered a perfect 9-for-9 on the back nine, helping drive one of the top performances of the month.

Flight Winners

In the School’s Out Flight, Chad Schluchter / Tyson Underwood took the victory with an excellent score of 28 points. They finished just ahead of two teams who tied for second place: Tim Fetzer / Brent Hannon and Scott Koepke / Willie Ross, both finishing with 26 points.

The Summertime Flight was won by Robert Martin / Ken Robertson, who also posted a terrific 28-point total. Second place was shared by Ed Estudillo / Joe Ryan and Stan Kohler / Kenny Stanton, both finishing with 24 points.

The best score of the tournament came in the Vacation Flight, where Chuck Olinger / Frank Hironaka delivered a standout 29-point performance to win the flight. John Marckx / John Strausa finished second with 24 points.

Halfway Through the Weekday Season

The June tournament also marks the halfway point of the Weekday Tournament calendar. Six tournaments have now been completed, with six more still to play.

At the halfway mark, the current Weekday Tournament $crip leaders are:

1. Chad Schluchter — $85
1. Steve Steinkamp — $85
3. Paul DeAlleaume — $80
4. Dan Burns — $75
5. Ed Estudillo — $70
5. John Poprac — $70

Looking Ahead to July

The July Weekday Tournament will be played on Thursday, July 9, for Thursday Seniors only, as they are dark on July 16. All other Weekday groups will play July 13–17.

After the fun of Partner Tin Whistle earlier this year, the July format will be Individual Tin Whistle, also known as Stableford. Tournament information will be released on July 1.

Congratulations to all of the June winners and top performers, and thank you to Mike McCoy, Weekday Tournament Captain, for continuing to lead a strong Weekday Tournament season.
