2026 Weekday Tournaments
February 12-16
MEMBERS PLAYING IN THE FEB WEEKEND TOURNAMENT ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN THE WEEKDAY TOURNAMENT
TEE TIMES
Round is played any day, Monday-Friday Feb. 16-20, 2026. Members are responsible for getting their own times and pay the starter for green fees/cart; there are no sign-up fees and no sign-up on Golf Genius. You must play with at least one other LVMGC member who must sign the scorecard.
FORMAT - PARTNER NET TIN WHISTLE. (AKA STABLEFORD)
Both partners score points based on how they play on each hole: Net Par = 1 pt.
Net Birdie = 3 pts. Net Eagle = 5 pts.
Handicaps are based on current index on day of play. Highest points are winners. Both partners can score points on each hole.
PLAY IS NOW FROM PERMANENT WHITE MARKERS (to make it more equitable across 5 days) except on the 1st hole - use movable white markers.
PROCEDURE
1. Use the regular course scorecard. Write each player’s full name legibly and each player’s score for each hole. PARTNERS MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED ON THE SCORECARD. Points for each hole may be written below the hole score as determined by the player handicap for each hole. The final score is the total points for all 18 holes. If not sure how to do this, the tournament captain will do it for you.
** Per current club procedures, a maximum of 10 stokes on any hole is allowed.
** Players may pick up their ball when they reach a net bogey (unless also playing in a low net format such as Pot Game, Seniors).
2. Put your card in the BLUE PLASTIC (Weekday Tournament) BOX in the Pro Shop, collected Saturday morning. Scores and handicap will be checked for accuracy.
3. Score cards must be legibly signed by the Scorer and Attest (or write in GHIN).
4. Rounds must be posted as HOME score on SCGA website.
DISQUALIFICATION
1. Failure to play according to SCGA/USGA rules, as amended by local rules.
2. Failure to play with another club member.
3. Incomplete score card, including missing legible signatures by two members playing that day.
See you on the course!

TOURNAMENT SNAPSHOTS
INDIVIDUAL LOW NET
Playing the Weekday Tournaments across multiple days often results in Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde course conditions. Thursday Seniors group had a cold windy day, resulting in high scores. Tuesday Pot Game group had a warm sunny day with friendly pins which allowed for lower scores. The Friday group had warm sun but extremely brutal pin placements where 3-4 putts raised scores.
Congratulations to Bryan Ivie on winning the Frosty Flight, tying for the low score of the tournament with a net 66 (-5)! He beat Dan Burns and Stan Kohler by two strokes (net 68), the only other two in that flight to beat net par. All three played on that warm Tuesday.
Heinrich Klingner also shot a tournament-low net 66 to win the Jack Frost Flight! Jeff Bille and Joe Ryan were the only other players in the flight to beat net par with net 69. These 3 also played on the warm Tuesday.
Ed Estudillo won the Frozen Flight with a net 68 (-1), the only player in his flight to beat net par! And yes, he played on Tuesday.
WEEKDAY TOURNAMENT TEAMS COMPETITION
I am excited to launch our new year-long format for 4-man Teams Competition! Designed for those who play Weekday Tournament frequently, players form teams of 4. Team points are awarded based on how well each guy plays in the Weekday tournaments across all 12 months. A player who places first in his flight in any month earns 10 team points, etc. The fee to join is $20 and all money will be paid out to top teams after the December tournament.
I currently have commitments from 7 teams, with team captains listed here: Dan Burns, Tony Chavez, Tim Fetzer, Frank Hironaka, Kenneth Lee, Mike McCoy, and Steve Steinkamp. Each team will eventually have a team name. Full list of teams with all names will go out soon.
I know of other guys who are putting their teams together. I also am putting together teams with
2-somes and singles, so there are openings for everyone. Players should play in as many Weekday Tournaments as they can during the year; I recommend at least 8 of the 12 in order to get points for your team. Send me your list of names (4) on your team; or your names(s) if a 2-some or single if you are interested in joining a team.
The last day to join is February 15, the day before the February Weekday Tournament starts.
The February Weekday Tournament will be played Feb. 16-20. Format is Partner Tin Whistle. Information will be sent out Feb. 1.
