04-01-2022 Eclectic 2022 Rules & Procedures I. Open to all current Los Verdes Men’s Club members with a current SCGA index. Tournament entrance fee ($30) must be paid prior to playing the first round. By paying the entrance fee, players agree they have read and will abide by rules below. Players make their own tee time reservations. II. Format 1. Play up to 5 rounds between April 12 and September 30, 2022 (5 rounds not required). 2. Only 1 round per calendar month may be submitted. 3. Rounds can be played from either the Blue or White tees. 4. Scoring is low net on each hole using current (day of play) SCGA index/handicap. 5. Final score is the total of best score on each hole over the rounds played. 6. Rounds can be played concurrently with any other tournament or club activity round in which you play your own ball tee to green and are playing with another Los Verdes Men’s Club member who must attest your scorecard (see Section V). III. Prior to Your Eclectic Round 1. Enter your name, date of play, and current handicap on the Eclectic sign-in page in the Satellite Tournament notebook. 2. Note the number on the line you completed and take the pre-numbered scorecard with the same number for your round from the plastic pocket in the notebook. 3. Enter your name and date played and indicate Blue or White tees played on the scorecard. 4. You must declare to your Los Verdes Men’s Club group member(s) that you are playing an Eclectic round before you tee off on the first hole. Once you have left the first tee, you are committed to playing the Eclectic Round (unless illness or injury prevents you from finishing). IV. Scoring the Round 1. Record your gross score on each hole. Per current club tournament procedures, a maximum score of 10 on any hole is allowed. 2. You may also record your net score on each hole in the square below your gross score, but this is not required. The captain will calculate/validate your net score for each hole. 3. Any hole played with a temporary green or temporary tee must be scored as Par Plus (also called Net Par, which equals par for the hole plus any handicap strokes for that hole; par 4 + 1 handicap stroke = 5) 4. The best net score on each hole over the 5 rounds is used to compute the final score V. After the Round 1. Make sure your pre-numbered score card is completed: name, date, tees played, current handicap, and gross scores 2. Sign your card and get the attesting member to sign the card; the attesting member must either have their name and scores on the score card, and/or has posted his round on the SCGA website. (This is proof the attesting member played that day). 3. Enter the attesting member’s name on the Eclectic sign-in page; if the attesting member’s name is not legible, you must include the member’s GHIN number. 4. Deposit the completed scorecard in the Black ECLECTIC BOX in the pro shop. 5. Post as a Home Score (unless playing in an official LVMGC tournament). VI. Standings During the Tournament 1. The number of flights will be determined by dividing the total number of players by 7, with a maximum number of 4 flights. For example, 25 players divided by 7 = 3.5, which would mean 3 flights. If the number of players is 28 or higher, there will be 4 flights. 2. Flight assignment will be determined by dividing the total number of players by 4, then grouping players by handicap range. Players will assigned to a flight based on their index as of April 1, 2022. Grouping may result in slightly unequal number of players in some flights. 3. The Eclectic captain will send out the standings via club e-mail at the beginning of the months of May, June, July, August, and September. The final standings will be sent out via e-mail to all players in early October. VII. Eclectic Champion 1. The winner of each flight will be the total of the low net score of each hole over the 5 rounds 2. In case of ties in a flight, tiebreakers are the back 9 total, then front 9 total, then hole-by-hole comparison, then low-net round to determine the winner. 3. The winner of each flight will play in the Eclectic Championship on Saturday October 29, 2022. * This date may be changed to another date, including a weekday, by unanimous agreement by all finalists and tournament captain. 4. The Eclectic Championship, played from the White PERMANENT markers, is an 18-hole round net match play format, with points awarded for each hole. If 4 flight winners are playing, each hole is worth 4 points; a single low net score gets all 4 points; points for tied holes are divided accordingly. 5. In the case of a tie, the tie-breaking system in VI-2 above will be used, substituting hole points for net score. 6. The Eclectic captain or a designated LVMGC member may serve as a “marshall” for the Championship round to assist with scoring and with rulings on special circumstances (drops, lost ball, putting rotation, etc.) 7. The winner of the Eclectic Championship will be recognized by the LVMGC as Eclectic Champion for 2022. 8. The Champion will receive the biggest payout, with a guaranteed minimum of $100. The other 2-3 players in the Playoff will receive payouts based on their results (2nd place will receive more than 3rd place, followed by 4th place). Remaining monies will be distributed to those finishing 2nd and 3rd in their flights. Payouts below 3rd place in flights will be made if funds allow. Failure to follow the Eclectic Rules & Procedures or the SCGA rules of golf (local rules excepted) results in round disqualification. Purposeful violation of these rules results in tournament disqualification.

07-01-2022 Blue Classic Starts 1. Rules for play will be USGA Rules as amended by local rules. "Winter Rules" will NOT be in effect unless authorized by the green’s chairman (that’s me if not during a monthly tournament) and specified in detail by the committee on tournament day. Play will be from the BLUE permanent tee markers, except the 1st hole, tee off from the movable markers. LV has asked us to do that. 2. This is a single elimination match play, 4-ball competition (partner’s better ball) match play tournament. All matches must be completed by November 1. 3. Handicaps will be based on your GHIN Current Index on the day the match is played. This is available on the GHIN app for your smartphone and their website. The GHIN app figures everything out with the ‘Handicap Calculator’. I suggest everyone download it. Players will receive strokes on the hardest handicap holes based on their handicap differential with the lowest handicap in the group. The lowest handicap player will play at scratch. Use the standard Los Verdes scorecards to determine stroke holes. 4. Both teams are responsible for coordinating and then securing a starting time. Every player must be flexible and arrange his schedule to play each match by the final date scheduled for the round being played. For subsequent rounds, the team playing last should inform the team they are playing next with 24 hours of winning. If the match is not scheduled by the Friday, the week prior to the LVMC monthly tournament the Tournament Captain may require the match be played in conjunction with the monthly tournament. Should any match not be played by the end of the scheduled date, all four players for that match may be disqualified, pending review by the Tournament Captain. The team in the next bracket will then receive a “bye” for the succeeding match. 5. If the match is completed early (e.g.: you win 4 & 3) all players must record NET par for all remaining holes for posting purposed. (Holes 16 -18 in the 4 & 3 example) 6. Upon completion of the round you must post your score (SCGA website or GHIN app) as a Home Round (within 24 hours), Email me a copy of your scorecard. Post the names of the winners in the proper bracket on the Classic pairings sheet located in the locker room entryway(if displayed). Your card must be correctly added, signed by the scorer, and attested by your opponent. Incorrect score cards, or not posting your round properly is cause for disqualification of your next match, and/or further LVMC handicap committee penalties. 7. The winning team must immediately notify the Tournament Captain by email of the match results. This way I can ensure the tournament runs on time. My email is below. 8. If the match is tied at the end of 18 holes, continue playing in sudden death format, starting on 1st hole, using same handicaps as the regular round. You will have to see the starter to arrange for the continued play.
