August 2026 Weekday Tournament
Partner Better Ball
Summertime at Los Verdes brought warm weather, longer playing days, and the beautiful ocean views that make weekday golf at LVMC so enjoyable. The August Weekday Tournament featured a Partner Net Better Ball format, and the competition was strong from top to bottom, with 26 teams, 11 pairs shooting net 65 or lower, and only two teams finishing over net par.
In partner better ball, players often talk about “ham and egging it,” meaning at least one partner comes through on each hole. This month’s results showed plenty of that teamwork. Tim Fetzer and Brent Hannon won the Sunrise Flight with a terrific net 61, while Eric Bennett and Frank Hironaka matched that same score to win the High Noon Flight.
The lowest score of the tournament came in the Sunset Flight, where veteran members Thomas Broten and Jag Chopra posted an outstanding net 60. Joe Ryan and Adolph Weiss were close behind with a strong net 62. The next Weekday Tournament will be played September 14–18, with an Individual Low Net format.

September Member Meeting – Chipping Contest & Taco Bar
Join us on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, for the LVMC September Member Meeting at Los Verdes Golf Course. The evening begins with the Putting Contest Semi-Finals hosted by Jim Louder at 4:30 PM, followed by dinner and the monthly meeting at 6:00 PM.
After the putting semi-finals, members will have a chance to show off their short game in our Chipping Contest. There is no entry fee required for the chipping contest, and prizes will be awarded to the top players. It is a great opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition, test your touch around the greens, and have fun with fellow LVMC members.
Dinner will feature a taco bar with tortilla chips, guacamole, pico de gallo, tacos, refried beans, red rice, cilantro lime cabbage slaw, churros, coffee, and tea. The cost is $30 online or $35 at the door. Registration opens Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 6:00 AM and closes Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
Satellite Tournaments
The LVMC Satellite Tournament season is reaching an exciting point, with all five events now fully underway and the August 31 deadline quickly approaching. Across Senior Match Play, the White Classic, the Blue Classic, the Eclectic Cup, and the President Cup, the competition is becoming more intense as brackets tighten, leaderboards take shape, and familiar names continue to appear across multiple events.
This month’s update highlights the key stories developing across the Satellite Tournaments, from dramatic match play finishes and teams surviving extra-hole battles to leaderboard races that are still very much alive. Whether you are still competing, following friends, or simply enjoying the season-long competition, this is a great time to check in on the players, the matchups, and the road ahead.
Satellite Tournaments
The LVMC Satellite Tournaments are officially underway, and the season is already full of great competition, friendly matchups, and plenty of opportunities to test your game. Whether you are playing in the President Cup, Eclectic Cup, Blue Classic, White Classic, Senior Match Play, or another Satellite event, this is your hub for tournament information, rules, registration links, brackets, scorecards, and updates throughout the season.
Please remember to review the specific rules for each tournament before you play, including tee assignments, scoring requirements, monthly deadlines, and any round registration requirements. These events are built to be competitive, fun, and fair for all members, so thank you for doing your part by staying informed, playing with sportsmanship, keeping good pace of play, and submitting your results properly.
Team Play Update
